BF2 crashes to desktop while loading geometries

Whenever i try to load a map, it gets to geometries, and then just crashes to the desktop. What can i do to fix this? i just installed it. the demo works perfectly fine, which is weird. i also have the special forces expansion, which also crashes.

give ur system specs, did u install 1.41 bf2 patch, u have latest vid card/sound drivers?

if that's the 62%...crash, then my "fix" was to delete and reinstall bf2.

problem solved.

i just reinstalled and it worked (seriously, it actually worked).because what happened, was that a while back i tried installing it, but it gave me a patching failed error, and i think that corrupted the game. And i found out that it was giving me this error because i had a bad RAM stick, so yesterday i got a new stick of RAM, and tried patching again, and it worked. But i think it still was corrupted. So i reinstalled and it works now
