This was just a though, when you load any mod including V BF2 you are greeted with a movie or a screen shot in the background. IDK if this would work, but if this image/movie was retrieved from a HTTP:// url, the mod developers could just replace the image with news and other information written on it to get the latest info for their mod out much quicker!

wont work, the movie has to be in .bik format and placed in a specific folder for the mod to recognize it. The game wont call on URL's.... -

With some editing of the menu files, you can call online images. However, making the whole background a linked image would make the login process excruciatingly long. Same especially with .bik movies. It's relatively easy to replace the "Message from EA" with whatever you want it to say.
Technically, Dice doesn't allow editing of the menu though.Comment
