    Black Screen

So i've been on here for two hours looking for a solution to a problem i am having and i hate when there are already forums answering the question but i looked at all the stickys and prior threads and cant find it.
SO... i have installed all of the complete bf2 collection and the 1.4 patch, when i enter the game everything goes right until the menu SHOULD be up but all i can see is the mouse arrow, i hear the music but it is just a black screen. I really have no clue what to do.
I have a R92p 128MB graphics card and it should work for the game but im not sure if thats what it is i have plenty of ram and everything checks out on my easyinfo i really want to get playing and ive been working on this for awhile please answer with a complete guide on how i can fix this.. THX

        Re: Black Screen

its not a good comp. so youve never played bf2 on this comp before, right? if not, then the default resolution should be set to 800x600 which any computer can handle. if the resolution has been changed to something your computer cant handle, you will get this black screen. if you have played before, then you have created a profile. if you go to* documents and settings, my documents, bf2, profiles, and then the profile that you created and open the video.con file, you can see what your resolution is set to and change it to 800x600 which will work.

*im trying to come up with the directory from memory, im not on the comp that has bf2 on it so hopefully that is correct.

i just wanted to know your desktop resolution because then i know a resoltion that is equal to or less than the max resolution your system can handle.

mk i Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600), 704.5 system memory, 2158.1 prossessor speed, 9.0c directXversion, my display device is a RADEON 9200 SERIES, 6.14.10.6614 that is my display driver.

so mk i think im figuring out my problem, idk so when i start the game, and i control tab out of it my ATI control center come up with a problem that says that it "VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands" i then look and my easyinfo from EA games and it says that i have 0 graphics memory this is weird, does this mean its just time for a new graphics card? or is there a fix?
