cant install bft2 on vista 32bit

ive search the threads as well as yahoo and google, and did not find any help. when i insert the cd into my rom drive i get a blut screen, memory dumb and reboot. if the cd is in the drive and the system has already rebooted and go to my computer and explore the content of the cd rom, same thing happens bue screen memory dump and reboot.

my system, 2 gigs of ram p4 3.2 ghz, 500 gig hadrive thats empty. Sb audigy 2 zs platinum, plextor dvd cd rw, and nvidia gefore 6800 ultra, mobo asus p5ad2-e. the game and vista are both retail.

windows vista is up to date, so are the drivers for audio.video, ive also disabled UAC

whats the error code or problem file on the blue screen (of death)

i dont no if this helps but, this is from windows recovery after the system reboots from an error. i hope this helps

nope, on every blue screen it will give the name of a problematic file usually a .dll file

@AlfaNewB, is it only the BF2 cd that causes the problem, or any cd?

I have installed BF2 on both Vista 32 and 64 bit and have never had a problem like you describe (or seen mentioned anywhere else for that matter). About the only thing that happens during the install is you get a warning that the game wasn't tested on Vista, click "Install anyway" and it installs.

complete battlefield collection pc dvd rom. sometimes i am able to view the files but i cant open any of them, it freazes "My Computer" then i get a blue screen and reboot, dosent freeze the system itsell just the my computer window.

i dont no why but, i inserted the dvd rom so ic an get a bluescreen, and its actually working today, i am actually installing the game. i did not do anything different, the last reboot was from yesterday. and the only software i deleted was power dvd which was giving me playback problems. maybe that was causing a problem from booting up the system, dll loads maybe, and in my system error report log i found that dllhost.exe was reported as an error numerous times. lets see how the installation goes. thanks for your help guys

so i installed all three games, patched them, rebooted and loaded BF2, so far so good, so aparently the cyberlink power dvd affected my systems dllhost, how weird.
