HELP! very weird problem!

okay, apparently, nobody else has this problem because i have not found a forum anywhere with someone with this problem.


when i go to the multiplayer menu in battlefield 2, when it updates the servers, it does it VERY slowly in large chunks.(so it will jump from 0 to 30, then to 70, really slow)

when i play online and am in a server, it is very choppy, but not "big chops," small ones, and only is choppy when i move.
now when i try to walk, my guy does a half-run half-walk thing, where he looks like he is swinging his gun in the air or something. it is unplayable.

it is not a problem with system requirements, it used to work perfect before.
i can play 1 player fine.
i have had this problem for about 6 months. recently, i played it, and the problem was gone!(for awhile)
i dont know what the hell i did to make it go away.
but i had to turn off the computer, and when i turned it back on, "tada!" its back.

and also, i have contacted ea support many times about it. it didnt help at all

What is your ping when this is going on ?
I only join servers with a ping below 70.
As for the server list updating in big bits ,it can do that from time to time ,and it is doing it a lot at the min as there is a few problems floting about.
Just try and keep your ping well under 100ms.

Yep you need to post your specs and more importantly your internet connection details, wireless maybe?
Stop downloading porn while you play as well.

lol well porn could be a problem
i thought i uploaded my specs but i guess it didnt work...
its a good connection, cable, not wireless.
the ping is not too bad. sometimes it is around 100 or 200, its how it was before the problem occured
and yes, i am on the new patch.
the in game settings are all on medium, it does not have to do with that either, i tried everything on low and it still had the problem.

100-200 seems high for cable connection to me. i have crappy DSL and my ping stays below 150, on most USA servers. make sure u got latest Video card/ sound/XP drivers.

i try to reboot PC and Modem and router if u have one before u play just to get rid of that potential problem.

is it possible for u to get 2gig RAM? i finally got to 2gig and can run on all high settings

Definitely get 2 gigs of RAM, I went from 1 to 2 it was like day and night.
I see there are some errors in your registry, although that most probably won't affect bf2, it's always worth downloading a free registry cleaner (just search for 'regclean' or something like that on google).
Close all applications when you play bf2, including msn, antivirus. If you share your connection, ask other users to log off, if it's just you, don't download anything while playing.
100 is too high. You should be playing with about 30-50 ping. At 100 I'm not surprised you're having problems.
Ping basically increases with distance, so if you're in Chicago playing on a server in Tokyo, your ping will be through the roof. In the game server menu, chose servers that have a low ping (under 50).
Restart your router, if you can't find a reset button just unplug it and plug it in again.

ok allso try th load up a multiplayer game start the game press escape, then press control alt del look at the task manager and tell me how much memory it says it used it will be there

I'd say that it's definately your ping and get an extra gig of Ram.
Also, stay on servers under 100 ping.
Maybe wanna try a Full clean of your system, Defrag, Reg Clean and Virus Scan.
