i just recently started playing bf2 and bf2142 after playing counter strke ( condition zero ) for over 7 yrs.The first time i played bf2 i was hooked.
over the past cpl of days ive found out a few things that annoy me to no end ,so i decided to just make a post and "vent" ,if u will.
After playing bf2 and 2142 for about 2 weeks I decided to rent a bf2 ranked server and 2142 ranked server.
I've had the server for 4 days now, and have played a grand total of ONE actual game..It's so boring to sit in an empty server for days on end waiting for people to join so you can play a game.I have a 16 slot server and at least 6 people have to join b4 a game will start( ***** #1 - You Cant Play A Ranked Game With Less Than 6 People ) I know i could probably get a redirect server to dump players into the server and i may resort to it if i cant get people to come in normally.In C.S. it was easy to get players to join... just add a few bots and then players would join .. then just kick the bots..But its just not that easy in bf2.
I finally got bf2cc installed ( after having to uninstall my current version of .net framework and installing an older version ).. but then when i seen i had to install "BF2142CC" to control my bf2142 ranked server it said i had to have .net framework 2.0 ( the same version that i JUST HAD TO UNINSTALL FOR BF2CC ) ....omfg, are u kidding me?...anyway.. i uninstalled 1.1 and REINSTALLED 2.0 ( ***** #2 = E.A. Is Too Strict On Ranked Server Files Access..BF2cc and BF2142 are a pain, but they do get the job done i guess )
After 2 days of email tag with my gameserver support people, i got battlerecorder installed. WOOHOO!! now i can make/view demos/movies w/e...
after playing the ONE AND ONLY game i mentioned above i viewed the battlerecorder demo...WTF??!! NO FIRST PERSON VIEW??? I actually thought i was doing something wrong, that there was no way such an "awesome" tool like battlerecorder would not have first person view.. But sadly I was wrong.. ( ***** # 3 = NO FIRST PERSON VIEW IN BATTLE RECORDER ).. I mean come on. I see where most leagues etc require battlerecorder to record matches, but the best view for catching hackers is FIRST PERSON.. Not only that but in my opinion its the most important camera view there is.. Theres no way i would not include it in battlerecorder..
In the few weeks i have played online ( bf2 - bf2142 ) my VOIP has worked maybe 50 % of the time.. Sometimes it simply just "disables" itself.. i cant talk or hear...in the middle of a game it will just stop working and i look in the options menu and it has "unchecked" itself..I still cant figure out why its doing this..maybe its my sound card or driver..who woulda thought i needed to get a new sound card for bf2..the voip problem has happend to a couple of my freinds also..
Oh speaking of friends,
It is way too difficult for friends to keep track of one another in bf2.. I mean come on.. i dont wanna have to have other programs running while i play bf2 because of lack of r.a.m.( 1 gig ) like xfire or aim or w/e.. It would make it so much better if BF2 had a friends or buddy list to chat/follow friends w/e there online ( ***** # 4 = No Friends List In BF2 )
Granted E.A. got the right idea and added a buddy list to BF2142 but BF2 needs one also..
Well, that's about it..After its all said and done i have to admit, even with all these problems ,I still love to play BF2 and BF2142..
