Anyone know what could be causing the problem pictured below? I have already reinstalled BF2 and have run dx diagnostics. I also updated my video driver to the latest although this problem began before the update and continued after. Any thoughts?

It's artifacting, caused by overclocking too high or overheating. What are your temps like? -

I checked the CPU temp and it is fine. For the video card I removed the fan and put some heatsink compound on the chip and reset the fan and heatsink. I confirmed that the fan is working when I reinstalled it. Still the problem persists.Originally posted by =TBS=Tonic
Does anyone think it is possible that the video card is "going" and this is the result? Could a part of the card been damaged? I ask these questions b/c I would hate to get a new card only to find out it isn't the issue.
Also, the computer works great otherwise but I have confirmed that this problem is present in all of my games from as old as Quake III Arena to Battlefield 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. This proves that it is a universal video issue that is not specific to one game or game engine.
Any further thoughts from my BF2 friends?

had wierd things pop up with my old X850 but without temps i cant help ya, dowload ATI tool(works for nvidia too) and scan for errors and temps

Also try this.. my friend was running into the exact same issues and this fixed it.
Try turning of Write Combining.
Right click on your desktop and click properties. Go to Settings -> Advanced. In the troubleshoot tab, turn off write combining.
Don't ask me why, but it seems to fix alot of issues like this.Comment

You should find out the exact temperature for your video card and processor and post it here so we can tell you if you are overheating or not, because those pictures look like a classic example of overheating problems. There are tons of programs out there that can detect your PC's temperatures. If you have an Nvidia card, its official "control panel" program vividly tells you precise information about your video card's temperature.Comment
