How many servers are still online and ranked? The last time I went online to play, there were only a handful. A dozen or so.

I get a few hundred. You need to get the latest patch and then you will get a few hundred as well.

1.41, not many servers running 1.4 still. the patch is only full, like 600megs, no incremental 1.41

There are 5431 servers running BF2 according to www.game-monitor.com .

2142 is joy at first, then you get to brigadier, and wow it barely any time at all wooohooooo! Then you find yourself bored, and teamkilling.. and.. let's not go there...

Don't listen to the naysayers. 2142 is a good game. The unlock system is better, they fixed a few annoying things (like not being able to jump and throw med packs) and air power is actually balanced.

Overall 2142 has a much better balance between classes and vehicles.

It does have a few negatives, but not enough to prevent plenty of enjoyment of the game.
