Either that or people go over to some kind of ABR. I enjoy playing the game as it is (honestly :) ) and looking at my stats every now and then is part of that enjoyment, as it is for lots of players. Given the chance to transfer my stats to some kind of ABR for the sake of playing untold new maps, i'd jump at it :)

Cant be done. The way the system is created, it doesnt really favour anyone except for EA and DICE and their wallets. What youre looking at is milking the cow.

Abandoning the whole ranking system altogether will create a situation where people would be genuinely interested in playing for fun, because every game in an unranked server or an unranked map means "playing for nothing". I hope you know what I mean.

You abandon stats sh!t, you get people playing all sorts of community maps, no need for any EA/DICE support whatsoever, except for patches.

Its the attitude that counts. There are dozens of "new" maps out there made by the community, for the community.

The thought of betatesting a financed map, and little fanboys cheering it makes me giggle.

If youve made a massive ammount of money by buying a company that used to care about the community it was making games for, the least you could do is to support that company in their venture of keeping the gaming community happy and satisfied.

If youre running a company and you need extra funds to make bigger projects go live, the least you could do is to make sure you will not be assraped in the process.

If you have any selfrespect left, at least youve got a spine, stand the fvck up.

Now that this has been said, saying "thank you" to DICE for releasing a 2 year old beta map that was launched thanks to extra green sent by Intel is what I would call- pathetically hilarious. If you guys rank this as community support, Im going to call a specialist here because a lot of you are suffering from the Stockholm syndrome.

The way I see it, this game is far from dead.
I paid for Vanilla,SF,EF and AF and I still enjoy playing it. I play almost every night and no other game has had that kind of hold on me. People moan and complain about Ea or DICE (and I'm NOT pointing fingers at anyone) regarding Support or Patches but to me, each patch has, in its own way, refreshed the game for me by tweaking it slightly. Each round I play is brand new for me because of us lot, the players that make it enjoyable and oh so unpredictable. This new map is a bonus as far as i'm concerned, its another extension to an already massive game. As for the adverts, are you kidding? I don't get time to look at adverts in a round!! I'm FAR too busy running around like a headless chicken

Pick up any of the games from 1995-2002 and tell me the difference between the CD/DVD version and the latest.

Just because you've been ***-raped for the last 4 years in terms of support does not mean that what you see holds true.

And growing up with awesomeness like Quake, or rather, ID software, and HL/Valve, and UT/Epic, I think I'll keep demanding free ****, considering that's the least they gave throughout that time.

The past 4 years (aka EA's venture into the non-crappy sports games) have brought sweet f*ck all from the mainstream developers.

    Oh, and see Raidyr's post.

You people arent realizing something. Most people, including myself, think it is a fine map. However, this does not change the fact that EA dug up a 2 year old map, pasted Intel ads on EVERYTHING. and released it as new. There is/was proof of this.

When you pay for something, you have to expect some support. And part of that includes free "content". Notice how EA calls it "content" like all the other marketing whores. Epic called it "Bonus Packs", not "content". When people start referring to something in a game as "content", that's a bit f*cked up. Oh, and read my original post.

Community mods are not implemented into the official game through official patches. If they were, there would be alot more people playing those maps and content.

    The problem is community integration.
