My BF2 is broken!

Ok everything loads like normal, it gets to the weapon selection and its stuck there.

Sounds works, background action is happening. Though I can't move my mouse cursor or hit escape. None of buttons work, I can alt+tab or alt+f4 but I cant Esc back to menu.

Earlier I had blue screen of death and it was doing a memory dump. Last night I had no problems playing.

I did a virus scan and only came up with adware. I restarted a number of times and still doesn't work.

I just got this Windows Error Report after a system restore.

Is it giving you a file that was bad, ( nv4disp.dll is common), and have you run memtest?

yeah a BSOD usually means bad ram, now have you been able to move your mouse after you restarted the game? that can be a simple fix by just setting your controls to default

All I can do is Alt+f4 the game. I can load BF2, move around in the menus, but when I load BF2 again, it does the same thing.

As of now I am doing a virus scan, and about to reinstall by video drivers and chip set drivers, with the latest.

did you set the controls to default though? beacasue that happens to me in 2142 sometimes i can move in the menu but not the game because my controls got erased...

No I usually keep them on default expect for a few tweaks on the jet controls.

well set them all to default. and see what happens, you can tweak the jet controls later...that wud be the only reason why you cant move in game...

OMFG I just finally loaded BF2 and checked the control settings and everything was blank, WTF?

Moment of truth, I put everything to default, and its loading shaders.

exactly:wall: click the deault button:p and it will reset them to normal again

Heh, your controls got wiped is all....no viruses or anything.
