BF2 won't detect my microphone

OK, so, I recently installed BF2 again and hooked up my microphone. Problem is that even though Ventrilo works and my microphone test in Windows works, BF2 won't. When I go to BF2VoiceSetup.exe and speak into my mic nothing happens. Please help!

Nope... You know the utility that you set up your mic with after installing BF2? That's not working. When I click "Save changes" it will crash, so should I re-install BF2?

Ye, try that... delete and reinstall your audio driver aswell, since your problem is also related with your soundcard..

Similar problem. My game doesn't crash or anything, it just doesn't recognize my mic at all. I can hear other people over VOIP but cannot speak. I also get absolutely nothing when trying the audio test where you speak into the mic.

Mic works fine on ventrilo and other programs, just not BF2.
