when picking up other weapons?

Just did a search but could not find my answer let alone loads of different threads came up.

Right, Has anyone suffer from crash to desktop when picking up other weapons? Just that I am getting this not all the time but can be frustrating when in the middle of a game. Is it me or is it a bug

I just get the 'random shut down' completely randomly, that's why I call it the 'random shut down'.

Not sure why picking up weapons might cause that... can't say I'm surprised... I mean this is BF2 we're talking about.

Its never happened to me but loads of others say its a bug that has happened loads of times to them

The only time I get a CTD picking up weps is extremely rare.

It's only when I pick up an M249, and it might only happen 1 / 3 times but I need to try it more to see.

I have had that happen, and heard of it ..true, not often. I wrote it off as a 'video overload'. Since it only happens after awhile of game play and when theres alot of stuff going on. Not sure of an actual fix ..more video, more ram ...should ask in BF2 Support.

Anyway, yeah this is another infamous bug that was supposed to be squashed in 1.4. It was "introduced" in 1.3, AFAIK. The thing is I rarely crashed when picking up a kit in 1.3 but it's happened a dozen or so times since 1.4.

It seems to always happen when I'm grabbing someone's medic kit to revive a teammate.
