Patch question please help

I am still back in the dark ages playing with version 1.0 of BF2. I am thinking about upgrading to version 1.41 because my ranked stats all still say 0000. If I install the patch will I still be able to play on servers that run version 1.0 because I enjoy playing on the t.o.w. servers and I am almost to the rank of Sergent. This is a big thing for me since I have little time to play.

Also will the stats I have earned on ranked servers show up at my BF HQ in the game when I upgrade??? Please Help. I searched the forums and am sorry if this question has already been answered and I misssed it.

once you install the 1.41 Patch you cant play on older version servers.
