Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Re: Why have most mods been somewhat...predictable.
What’s wrong with the concept of battlefield starcraft?
In 2142 you board titans, I can see myself boarding a carrier or battlecruiser and if they where...BIGGER then it would rock.
How can you honestly say battlefield starcraft isn't the BESTIDEA EVER
Re: Why have most mods been somewhat...predictable.
There are two Stargate mods in development.
The BF2 engine is a pain for modders - that's why you don't see much diversity - not enough people want to bother creating contecnt for such a lacking engine.
Re: Why have most mods been somewhat...predictable.
Yer its a lot easier to go and make a mod on events that have happened and find media to model off and so on..its pretty hard to make a whole new story and mod concept.
Re: Why have most mods been somewhat...predictable.
Well, Desert Conflict was around back in the days of 1942. And Battlefield already went through the whole BF:V stage, obviously what Eve of Destruction is based on, just with a newer engine.
I wouldn't call Project Reality predictable, I sure as hell never saw it comin'.
What about the Stargate mod? That's different. And Sandbox and Battleracers are sure not your average run of the mill kinda' games...
Starcraft is already a game, and a very different game from BF2 at that. Why would you want a mod like that? When you could just go play Starcaft... And if you want some space aged but an FPS, go play 2142...
Re: Why have most mods been somewhat...predictable.
He is right, there is something about the mods that just seems like more of the same. I dont know, maybe it has something to do with me playing battlefield non-stop since the wake island 42 demo.

Stay in the BF2 Discussion room, Eddy.
WTF!!!
Firstly DesertConflict was not around back then,Desert Combat was and it was made by Trauma not any of the DCon team..
EOD was out at around the same time (ish) and was long before BFV came out..
As for being predictable ...well people who buy a Battlefield game and download a mod expect a battlefield experience dont they ??

Umm there was a mod for BF 1942 called Desert Conflict or Desert Combat. Forgive me for not being able to remember which of the two it was called. I played it at my buddies all the time.
So it was out when 1942 was big. Either way you look at it.
I doubt EOD was around when BF:V was in the spotlight. EOD, as far as I understand is a mod for BF2 using the new BF2 game engine. I played BF:V for years, if there was an off shoot at the time, I would have played that also.

The MOD for BF1942 was called Desert Combat. We at Desert Conflict are in no way affiliated with Trauma Studios, the makers of the original Desert Combat which was bought by EA. Desert Conflict is created by a group of dedicated fans that want to bring back the old Desert Combat feel to a new engine while taking the spirit of Desert Combat to the next level.
