Re: Wake Island 2007. Old Question?
Many of these mods require you to do some manual work besides just installing them. If you overwrite your vanilla maps then of course you won't be able to play online so you need to make sure you are installing the mod to a separate mod folder. For problems with xstax981's mod you should post in the forum dedicated to it:

Re: Wake Island 2007. Old Question?
back in the day, i think it was just an air base, and thats it. it is actually 3 islands, hence the bridges. im guessing that they thought it would be good to do a revamped up to date version.
and the 2007 comes from the fact that BF2 at the time of its release, 2005, was set in the near future, i.e. 2007-2008Comment

Re: Wake Island 2007. Old Question?
ACTUALLY, I believe the reason its not in single player is because single player mode does not support 64 player maps and Wake is ONLY a large 64 player map
sure you can set it to have less players on the server, but no matter how small you make it, its the same size map, you can put it on a 16 slot server and its still the same size with the same number of control points to capture as a server running 64 slots
every other map, when you change the player size the map actually changes its layout
even in BF2CC, when you look at Wake in the map list, its listed as only cq64 (Conquest 64)Comment

Re: Wake Island 2007. Old Question?
The reason it's not in single player is that EA/DICE didn't bother to make a navmesh (bot pathing) for it. Modders created one shortly after they released it just as they did with Jalalabad and the 64-player sizes of the original maps.Comment
