Bf2 won't start

Well, my brother decided to mess around with the localization files and when he was all finished with that, we tried to start the game; some bf2 error thing came up. My brother then reinstalled it and we then tried to play it but the same bf2 error thing came up. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Try manual uninstall, common problem is registry settings left over
