Turn your graphics down, change the priorities or upgrade your hardware.

I can record 60fps with FRAPS at almost full graphics (Core 2 Duo is the way to go). FRAPS is seriously processor heavy as it tries to encode the movie on the way. Without compression encoding it would be like 1gb for 10secs.

                Re: Question About Videoing

Run FRAPS, press "ctrl + alt + delete". Right click on FRAPS and click "go to process". Right click on the process and go to "set priority". You'll want it on "high". It may not make a difference tho, just an idea.

Turning down graphics is also an option as is changing FRAPS's FPS to something low like 25-30fps. Changing from Full screen recording to half screen also improves performance.

                  Re: Question About Videoing

Thanks! It improved it by 5FPS.

I got a video capture card though, so I'll be able to record with no FPS hit at all!

Cool. Which card did you get?
                    You could cap TV programs
