Problems with connecting to a server

Hi there - been trying to get back into BF2 yet encountering some problems.

    First of all
    • I am sure there are no driver faults
    • This does not occur on any other games
    • I am patched to 1.41 (latest)

Right... it's as simple as - I crash to desktop as soon as I try and connect to a server. Both through the connect to IP dialog and normally browsing.

No idea what to do. Help please?

Re: Problems with connecting to a server

yeah i think the problem is that ur cd key has been deleted from ur registry so u just need to re-enter it so according to the Tech FAQ in the stickies...

Problem - Crash to Desktop on Joining a online Server
Cause - No CDKEY in Registry
    Fix
    - Use battlefield2_code.exe to re-enter your CDKEY, this can be located in the support folder of where you installed battlefield 2 on your Hard-Drive.
After re-entering your CDKEY you must then reapply the latest patch in order for it to be encrypted into the registry.
This Program can also be used. (Note - This Program appears to do nothing visually, but it did change the registry key)
