Re: LaDDer QuESTion
Maybe the claymore is too close to the ladder, back it up a little. They have like a 10000000000000000000000000000000000 yard range anyway. -

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
i thought if you put it real close, that way when they reached the top of the ladder they would be on almost touching it.
if you was to walk past a clay it would deffs go off even if it was close by? saya foot or two...Comment

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
If you put it further back it'll get them once they actually plant their foot on whatever roof/ground that you're on and you'll have to pick them up with a sponge.Comment

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
Watch the animation when someone goes up a ladder. They don't actually climb the last bit, they teleport up and forward a foot or so. That way, when you put the mine right on the ladder, they teleport past it.Comment

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
The same thing happens many times when they are actually climbing the ladder and you drill them in the face with an entire clip and somehow they also survive. It doesn't happen everytime, but it happens enough that I would consider it some kind of weird 'immunity bug'.
Other times this 'immunity bug' happens is during a 'deployment' phase;
1) Medic is in process of reviving
2) Sniper is in process of laying claymore
Not sure if this can be reproduced or is a product of lag. I've just noticed that it seems harder for me to kill a sniper or medic when they are doing those actions. I haven't noticed if it does it when a supply guy 'deploys' a bag.
THe only problem with this tactic is that you will not get the preventative effect of people actually seeing the claymore. Many players will not bother to come up if they come up the ladder and see it. If you hide it, they will always come up, detonate it (hopefully dying in the process), but then the guy right behind him can come up now. It's far more effective to hold off players if they can SEE the claymore. So better placement may be necessary, but visibility is also important - psychological deterrence.Comment

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
Yea thats the way to do it...
OR if you have a mate up there with you
get him to put a ammo/medic pack in front of it then put the claymore 'inside' it, then it becomes invisible
But then if people really are stupid enough to run up ladders without checking for claymores then i guess they deserve to get the heads blown off

Haha i always put clay on medic and resupply bags. Also I like to put clay on fallen enemys. When medic revives he dies. And sometimes i get two kills for both medic and revive - eYea thats the way to do it...

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
5 seconds to arm after deployment, cannot count the number of times a sniper has dropped a clay down as i chase him run right through it and kill him, unless i am more than 5 seconds behind him, (alot of time in BF2) then hes as good as dead, also are u facing it towards the ladder? or do you climb up and just drop it? they do have a triggering radius you knowComment

Re: LaDDer QuESTion
i like putting them in visible places. that way, you can block a path without wasting too many claymores.Comment
