Ok, I have a few questions.

I'm on a 200mb limit because i've checked heaps of the isps in new zealand and they dont have unlimited, were upgrading to a gig soon but I prob wont be downloading coz i need it to use the internet, right?

1) How many pages approx. will 1gb give me?

2) Does it use your gb from playing bf2?

3) Can I subscribe to an isp in another country, say USA?

4) Is There Many Changes In The 1.41 Patch (Thanks Red)

Ehh, there's no DSL providers in new zealand? They only allow you to "purchase" a certain amount of traffic? Um, never heard of that.

1)Depends on a site i suppose. Sites with alot of pictures take alot of that 1gb. If you surf alot for pr0n, that lasts for about 15 minutes
2)BF2 transfers data from your computer to the server, so yes. Not alot thought.
3)I don't think so. The ISP you suscribe to, must have cables set up to the switch box near you.
4)ea's site has the official change list. :)

1) Depends how many pics are on the page. Especially forums and the like, the more pics there is the more data there is to download. It's not much but it all adds up, especially if your limit is only 200mb :|:

2)Yes. About 80-100mb and hour I think, could be (and probably is) less. Some ISP's in Aus and I assume NZ run BF2 servers which don't add to your monthly quota.

3)No.

4)If you haven't played since say 1.21 (or earlier) then yes there are a lot of changes.

Finally, go kick your ISP in the sack, 200mb is just not acceptable. Even 1GB won't get you far. Internet sucks hardcore in both Aus and NZ for those of you from overseas.

Lots. Unless you're streaming video or audio, or search some very image heavy pages.

yeah, but I doubt it will be an issue. If you're really concerned about it some ISP's that run their own gaming servers will give you free bandwidth when playing on their servers.

No

Yeah, and being from New Zealand, I doubt you'd find any servers running an outdated patch.

What type of plan are you on? IE, if you go over your limit what happens? Do you get charged extra per MB, or do they cap you down to like, 64kbps? If you only have a choice between the two, make sure you go for the capping. It's very very very easy to go overboard when you have broadband.

No, but according to the BFROE you must have it, otherwise your stats may be wiped.

A: Dont count your bandwidth in terms of pages. Get used to the terminology. GigaByte = 1000 MegaBytes. That's 5 times your 200MB limit.

2) Does it use your gb from playing bf2?
A: Yes. any interactions you do on the internet uses your bandwidth. ANYTHING, EVERYTHING.

3) Can I subscribe to an isp in another country, say USA?
A: You can only subscribe to ISPs in your local area. These are local telecommunication networks and are limited.

4) Is There Many Changes In The 1.41 Patch (Thanks Red)
A: you can read the exact changes of the game in the LOG file of this update. you can find it on the internet. This update prevents many of the glitchings that people do, or things that they shouldn't do. No jumping and firing, no C4 tossing. Also there is an infantry MODE that gets rid of all vehicles and keeps the map pure infantry.

It's like this. To earn points, you must play on a Ranked server. All ranked servers are up-to-date in regard to patches (perhaps that's what Doggie52 was referring to in a roundabout way). So without patching, you'll have to play on unranked servers who match your version, and undoubtedly, the list to choose from will be very, very small.

Technically, there are a couple of thousand give or take. Filtering for just populated servers, though, I typically get around 250, but that's with only "Large" maps selected. Adding Small and Medium maps, it'll be a little more.

Well, after the round ends and the server sends the info to the master server, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to many days. (Typically, weekends are the worst given the increased # of players online.)
