BF2 problems with Vista! plz help!

hi,

i've been having huge problems running BF2 on vista 32-bit version and i've got the latest drivers for my graphics card and sound card. Whenever i try and start a map in Singleplayer, the map loads but then the screen goes black, and a message saying 'power saving on' or something like that pops up on my screen!! the sound is still there playing but no image! is it a problem with DirectX 10 or something??

Please please help me!! any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is not the only game this has happened in (also happened in Quake 4)!

specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 XP 5600 @ 2.8ghz
1GB of Corsair ram
ASUS MV2 motherboard
BFG OC2 Geforce 8800GS @ 640mb
Creative Soundblaster Audigy 4 Pro

hmmm ...hate to give bad advice, but I would try two things first. You can change the settings for power saving in Control Panel, Power Options, and then select Performance. The second thing is, you are in woeful need of RAM ...Vista and BF2 like lots and lots of RAM. Get all you can afford, and max out your board, or the best you can, but add as much as possible. Nice graphics card though :-)
