While on the login screen in the game, I went to "Retrieve account". I entered my email address (the one I entered on gamespy) and entered the password (the new one I just got from resetting my password on gamespy). It logged me in, but on an account I've never seen before. The username at the bottom was "silent-ghost-of-deat", but when I went to BFHQ my username showed as "Tomeis", which is my main username.
It's weird because when I'm at BFHQ on silent-ghost-of-deat it shows the username is actually "Tomeis" but when I enter "Tomeis" in the compare option, it comes up with my main account, Tomeis, which is a sergeant. So when I compare the two accounts, it compares "Tomeis", the private first class and "Tomeis" the sergeant.
The email I entered to get "silent-ghost-of-deat" is the same email I used to register my account "Tomeis", yet silent-ghost-of-deat is registered to that email, because the only way I can log on my main account is by entering the username "Tomeis" and then the password. (which isn't the same at "silent-ghost-of-deat")
On BF2tracker is says silent-ghost-of-deat has been tracked since 2005, but I bought this game earlier this month and I've never played it before.
So in the end the bug is: there's "2" accounts (both with the same name?) registered to one email
I know this sounds confusing, but kinda serious since I can't change the password to my main account.
Edit: You can even see this bug for yourself by going to the BFHQ while in-game. Type in "silent-ghost-of-deat" into the compare option, and then type in "Tomeis". Go to both their stats and you can see at the top you're comparing the same name, but two different accounts.
