BF2 won't startup

*sigh* As the title suggests BF2 won't startup. It goes to the splash screen that says Battlefield 2 which shows for a couple of seconds before dissapearing... then nothing happens after that. Funny thing is the BF2.exe is still showing that its running in task manager and so is that ~e001(which begins to hog resources) thing too. I've tried re-installing twice and I've already update to the latest patch. Previously before this problem started to happen, I had BF2 installed and it work GREAT. But then I un-installed it and now with reinstalling it I run into this problem. Any help would be most appreciated & thanks in advance!

As you see in most posts.., upgrading your drivers will fix most of your problems. This is defenitly a driver issue... Get the latest (Audio, video, chipset, directx drivers..) and BF will run fine.

I updated to 7.4 and no luck... any other suggestions?

AMD 3000+
2 Gigs Crucial PC3200
ATi 9600XT
250 GB HD

Note: the game was working before I uninstalled it... but now after reinstalling it just doesn't work.

This is just a shot in the dark but if you reinstalled, the game automatically installs dx9 try reinstalling dx10
