Framerate issue

This is really ****ING PISSING ME OFF THAT THIS GOD DAMN IS ****ING UP!
Every few secs I get this quick lag. It used to never happen! 2142 and DOOM 3 run SMOOTH on high but not BF2!!! Does anyone know wtf is wrong?

I found out that it's the entire game like even at the menu the video in the background lags too

set ur agp aperture to 256mb

try clearing ur cache files

Defrag your computer, clear your cache (found in the BF2 folder in your documents), turn off programs running in the background, run virus-checks etc etc.

Manually update PB plus the above.

Install CCleaner works wonders to clena all the crap from your pc.

I will defrag tonight. Thanks for all the help. I got CCleaner and I am running it. Just so I know, is there anything in the CLeaner section that will like wipe my hard drive, or is everything ok to run?

just make sure everything is ticked apart from advanced & cookies (unless you dont want to save saved info on websites)

And no it does not wipe the HDD it just wipes all the crap that gets generated everytime you load up a program etc.

All you simply need to do is click analyze and then ok and run cleaner.

yes bruv it is i followed it a bit and got my vidoe spec runing pukka
now i got lag free play

The BF2 engine is very picky when it comes to Nvidia drivers.

hm...well ur comp isnt that bad. 2 gigs of ram is pretty good. the 6800 is a tad bit old but if u play on lower settings it hsould be fine.
