"Invalid characters" for BF2 nick.

Hello all,

So, I was going to make a new account, for BF2, and I was wondering what are the invalid characters? Stuff like { / | # ¦ ?

Because I want to make a nick and it always says "Invalid characters" So what are the invalid things...?

no spaces, has to be a single word you can use symbols to make it look like a single word

You also can't use names like Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.

Yeah..but I see invalid characters in the PREFIX....how do you make those? with a word editor?

Anyone know how...specifically?

You have to open your profile global .con with word or similar program and edit it out of game, then save.

Look in your BF2 folder that is in your documents, go to profile folder and open the global .con.... GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "your characters here" then save... now when you load BF it will show up at account login.:salute:

those are called 'special characters' trial and error is the best way to learn which ones are allowed, and which are not allowed...

Mine is a clan tag from back in DC42.. the tag keeps ppl off my back about if I want to join their clan and I just like how the tag looks in game
