Playing on the .:iGi:. server 15th May

Was anyone here playing on the .:iGi:. server last night?

I joined a squad mostly called VOIPTW, and we were working exceptionally well together, unfortunately I can't remember any of my squad mates names now.

we ended up winning every round for about 7 in a row I know that BlackWire was on our team and he and a clan mates were totally PWNING the jets and helicopters on Al Basra as Insurgents.

My name is MOOFBlaise, if you were on last night, let me know, what did you get up to?

Just a repeat of my post on the PR forums for those here..............

Oh, it was me and .:iGi:.Lt.Gruber that were watched the fireworks show as I personally aimed my uber weapon and took them down :

      "DIE COBRABOY DIE"

      Does that ring a bell

Yes, I have found the one weapon on al basrah that the insurgents can use to clear the skies of those nasty USMC Cobra and A10 pilots.

      I seem to recall my kills/deaths was 24/2 and I got 3 tanks, 3 x APCS, 3 x Blackhawks, 4 x A10's, 5 x Cobras and of course, a few troops on the ground

There was even a cry from the Village of "we love you, MrD" at one point, lol!

Rhino, I've been playing PR for about a month now, and I still find there's plenty to learn, but I still don't find it that easy to join a squad that uses VOIP effectively, maybe I'm on the wrong public servers.?

You really do need to add VOIP into your squad name to get the right people in, and I don't want to have to do that all the time as I'm not the best squad leader at the moment.

        MrD, YES!

Mr D is God, welcome to the Mr D show, I remember all that, it was bloody amazing! and quite hilarious, talk about moral boosting the insurgents

What weapon were you using it was pretty effective!

You did finish with 24 / 2 I remember checking it at the end just to see how well you did.

It was the humble tank, the best AA weapon I've found :)

I've moved from hitting the enemy aircraft headon, to hitting them from the side.

All good practise for the upcoming 17 square kilometer fog removed maps coming up in v0.6

Yeah I thought you were in the tank, but I couldn't imagine that you actually used its cannon to hit the aircraft.

Man I miss the Stingers from DC

Apparently there are two SA-7 AA pick-up kits for insurgents on Al Basra, one on the first floor of the Mosque, and the other in the courtyard near the Industry flag.

Re: Playing on the .:iGi:. server 15th May

Unfortunately the SA7's and fixed AA are pretty much worthless against pilots for two reasons.

One the craft get out of SA7 range too quickly and the difficult lockon system. You never manage to destroy them with one missile and they simply go fast reapir (that ought to be cutout on that map. Rearm, but no repair.

Second, the fixed AA are just that. The pilots know where they are and go hammer them. They are hammering tank spawns too so it is up to insurgent sides to spawn mechanic and get the tanks moved pronto at the start of a round. Put them under overhangs or in the desert hidden by trees or ravines.

Tanks are currently THE method of taking down aircraft, even though they only have 15 shells of AP in them, so you better be a good shot on side-on engagement! Don't drive them to targets, keep them digonally off about 300m and catch the aircraft as they take their run in to bomb preferably.

if you change mosque to place then ye that is where both the SA-7s are :)

also, there are stinger missiles in PR, check the PR guide for info about request kits
