Trouble install BF2 onto 32bit vista ultimate

Hello,

desperately need help.

Cannot get BF2 to install on my pc, crashes during install when uploading the operation cleansweap map.

Tried a friends copy and again crashes at the exact same bit.

Tried runing the setup.exe as an admin and with xp compatability and the exact same issues.

Done all the latest graphics card and windows updates and no difference.

Someone out there please help!

If you instaled the the upgrade version this is your problem. Vista NEEDS to be a clean install trust me at work we have so many problems with customers doing upgrades.

You could try putting vista back on if it was a clean install and put drivers on then put BF2 straight on. Also an old trick i used with xp is try disabling any anti virus, if that doesnt work try loading it on via safemode (tap f8 when you turn the comp on).

The vistal install was onto a clean brand new drive, also tried putting it on in safe mode and exact same fault.

Try installing without all those programs running.
and
check the disk for scratches
