Ive got a problem with BF2...Working on fixing it though.
When i first bought it, the splash screen would come on, then it would be black for a few seconds, and then go back to desktop. I adjusted a few things with the vid card, had to change the zbuffer type to stencil. I also installed a ***** patch as well because i read that helps some issues (sorry if its illegal to speak of this, my apologies.)
Now it will go through all the movies and get to the menu where the static comes on and says "welcome to duty" or whatever, after it says that the static freezes up and i can move the mouse curser. Then it blinks off and comes back to just a black screen with a mouse curser and i can move it around on the screen for however long, until i alt+F4 the game out. Then after i exit the game i go to my vid card settings and i see that somehow my hardware accell got set back to only "basic accelleration" and everything goes real slow. Then i have to restart my comp to be able to start the game again or else it just blinks off.
Now for my system specs:
XP Home (only have SP1 installed and no other updates besides DX9c)
P4 1800mhz
256mb ram (yes i know it doesnt meet the requirements but it hasnt been an issue in any other games)
Radeon 9200se 128mb DDR (drivers - catalyst 6.11)
2- 100gb WD ide hard drives
52x NEC DVD/CD-RW drive
Soundmax Onboard audio...have a Cmedia card but i prefer to use the onboard, could this be an issue?
I play other games fine with decent FPS and everything, like san andreas, BF1942, halo, and some others.
Id appreciate any help with these problems, i think i may need to get newer drivers for my card, and install the other sound card. But let me know if theres anything else.
