Crash when I put disc in.

Ok, I have 1000 hours in this game, and this is the first time this has happened. I put in the disc, the Battlefield 2 Screen pops up, I hit Play Now, the game starts up, but then it just crashes back to the desktop. This has happened before on my old computer when we didnt have the recquired graphics card or computer specs. Like I said, this is the first time this has happened. Please help.

I have a Dell XPS 400, Specs: Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99 GHz, 2.00 GB of Ram

I play this game for at least 2 Hrs every day, so this is very rare.

Have you tried to play the game from your start menu or the icon on the dekstop?

Have you changed any video or audio drivers, or did you change any settings in the game when you last played?

Yes, I tried playing from the Start & Icon but no luck.

And no, I didn't change any settings.

Are there any settings that I might have changed in the past that could have caused this?

lol the computer system is a very complex piece of kit, if you have changed something and unsure what, well its like looking for a needle in a hay stack!

Delete your profile folder from..

C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

Then start BF2 see if it loads now.

Thanks a lot Tonic for trying to help me, but my dad figured it out. My dad was messing around with the monitor features, he changed Plug and Play to our actual Dell FP1901 Driver. He changed it back to see if that was the problem by using System Restore. It worked, I appreciate your concern for helping others. Thanks

just a tip try to avoid using the "Play Now" shortcut, it can cause some problems and well easier to pick the server yourself, you dont know where you will land when you use the Play Now shortcut.

I meant when you put the disc in, and the small box comes up that says Play Now, Play Online Now!, etc.
