Video Problems

I've had BF2 for about a year and a half now. My video card is not the newest or most current, but has run the game very effectively for me. I usually have my in game video settings with the Dynamic Shadows and Dynamic light turned off so I can see without obstructions. Recently, when I have loaded BF2, the shadows are showing and the light is not where it should be. I have tried adjusting the settings to accomodate good visibility, and the settings do not optimize. I've tried changing my video settings to allow the application to do it's thing, to no avail. I reinstalled Windows, BF2, and my video card drivers, and nothing helps. The game runs with the "best" features, with everything on high, even though the settings say differently.

My computer specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo Quad core 2.7
2 Gigs Corsair 6400 XMS C4 Ram
Abit 7.1 Surround sound card (Came with MOBO, but seperate part)
ATI Radeon X1600 pro (512 mb) video (Catalyst version 7.4)
Seagate Barricuda 7200rpm 320GB HD

So you're saying that when you are playing, everything looks different in terms of the dynamic ligthing, shadows etc?

I think you may have the same problem i had. One day my in game graphics were fine, and then the next day all the scenery on the maps was a lot darker and generally looked like Karkand was experiencing a solar eclipse.

In the end it sorted itself out.

Yeah, ummmm, thanks for the help. LOL, so what do you mean it sorted itself out??? Did you C4 your computer, or did you switch to nvidia or what???
