Something Missing?

Hey all, i was playing the other day when i spawned and when i went to move i was unable to move forwards. it was like there was an invisible wall infront of me, restricting my movement. it suddenly dawned on me what the problem was. lets see how many of you know what the problem was from the SS's. the "wall" is basically where my gun is pointing. as you will see, ive done it from two angles.

i was like WTF! i could believe it. when i realised what was wrong i just sat here not knowing what was going on. you can see the different shade on the ground where it should be. it was like that for the whole round but for some reason it was only missing for 1 out of 3 in my squad

BTW, anyone else ever seen this???

I was going to say that your problem is lack of GPU...

I've had it where I was stuck but not stuck on an invisible object. Nothing worked. No movement at all, even with the mouse flayling about on my desk. That's when the server needs a restart. I just quit if it happens.

thats another bug tho. commander previous round used to get u stuck on the next map when u spawn

lol. aint seen that one before. besides, that werent the problem anyway (the one you quoted) i could move around the rest of the map, it was only cause i was standing next to it.

Memory/CPU, when I had 1GB it was fked up. I got what you got, and more: the whole map (all buildings) were like that. New CPU + 2GB RAM =

you had a gig and it looked ****? did you have it on high settings? and the graphics card is part of it too

sometimes if you alt-tab out during the map loading, objects wont render.......this happened to me on wake, but it was worse, there were no objects, terrain, players, or anything visible, only water, and overgrowth (trees and bushes and whatnot) u could see the helicopters blades, and the smoke trails from jets and shadows from where these objects should be.....and name-tags, but thas about it....

Wow, that's really strange.

If I was to Alt+Tab out of BF2, my computer would probably die, so I can't say I've ever seen that before.

It was everything med with:

Crappy CPU
1GB Ram
ATI x1600


Now:


3GB RAM
Nvidia 8800

It looked like this :laugh: :

There were way worse than this, just a few 'light' examples
