    Mouse Wheel Off??

Got a notebook mouse with an ultra sensitive mouse wheel. Often in the heat of a battle I seem to slightly touch the wheel and it changes my weapon. Is there a way to turn the mouse wheel off in BF2??

    TIA

You will have to manually edit your current controls.con file in notepad. If you do disable it, you won't be able to use the wheel mouse to zoom in/out of the map when your in commander mode.

Go to your My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles folder. Open the Global.con file in notepad and see what it say in quotes on the first line. This is the current profile folder you are using. Go into that folder and open up the Controls.con file. Scroll down to the very bottom until you see something like this...

    ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PINextItem IDFKeyboard IDKey_Unknown 10000 0
    ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIPrevItem IDFKeyboard IDKey_Unknown 10000 0

You need to replace what you currently have in the "Unknown" part with that word. That will disable it. I actually use my wheel mouse to switch between my 2 most used weapons for any kit.

I would back up the file incase something goes wrong. GL

why dont you just go and change how you switch weapons in the controls menu and make it so the mouse wheel doesnt do anything? otherwise just play weapon roulette like i do when im bored.

You can also open up the mouse and manually remove the wheel.
