get a new computer. DDR, P4, AGP, all way outdated, X1550 is a POS, at least get an X1650pro, not much more but way better, of if your not super cheap get a 1950pro, being agp tho i feel for you, that will slow you down, seriously get a new PC built, don't buy one of those big ripoff factory build pieces of $hits with ECS no name MB etc tho. why upgrade a PC that will never run bf2 on full when the game is 2 years old, you will Never be able to run any of the newer games for the life of you.

i was gonna say an x1550 PCI card is probably going to be DIRE. your cpu will probably struggle as well.

much better to upgrade you pc! you can easily build a reasonable a64 system for around 250quid.

I don't have rich parents like you guys, and I'm old enough yet to get a job. I don't have $1500 to build a new rig, in truth, that's how much it would cost me. A lot of you guys are old enough to support your selves and can spend money on extra things like getting a new PC. Well, I can't, I have to use what I have. Mowing lawns would take me a few years to get the money I need for a PC, I'm not that serious of a gamer either, I don't need to spend that much. If I did get a new PC it would probably be a $300-$500 dell with a few upgrades, nothing special.

Anyways, does anyone have 512mb theu could give me? I'd pay shipping.

who said anything about us having rich parents? i bought my pc out my own money, and i should have paid alot more for it than what i did. i got it from dell, so if what you say is gonna happen, wait until there is one hell of a good offer up. ie, increased RAM, graphics card thrown in etc. they put new ones up every couple of weeks or so, just wait till something good crops up.

I didn't mean to make it sound like you guys are spoiled. What I meant was that a lot of you guys have a very comfortable life, and can get the money you need for a new PC.

nah dont think everyone can go out and spend £500+ on a new pc whenever they fancy. i and many others pick the right time to upgrade, using some parts from the previous pc can save some money as can selling the old parts on ebay or somthing.

as for begging for 512mb or 1gb, you will be lucky... its far to usefull to give away.

if you cant earn any money, its time to ask your mom and dad to buy u a new pc. early birthday pressie or summat

Well since my type of ram is "old" I figure some of you guys might have some of it laying around in an old PC or put away somewhere. I need 1 gig of DDR SDRAM.

Your card is a re-distributed model of the x1300 PCI, which is what I own. With a 3.0Ghz Proc, 1GB DDR2 RAM, and that card, it runs low settings at about 30 FPS with stutters. I am getting new RAM when school lets out though.

DDR Ram you say? WEll...I think I have a 192mb stick lying around in my drawer >_>

I kinda feel your pain though, as I have a crappy Nvidia 128mb vid card, and a lousy 512mb ram (read my sig). I just recently swapped a $1000 laptop (I'm in Australia, prices are different to what most of you guys have) for this PC. I keep thinking that maybe I was ripped off, but the laptop was exactly the same as the PC I have now...except with less Ghz. In truth, PCs are a hellova lot cheaper to build/upgrade compared to laptops...
I'd upgrade your motherboard tho, coz you won't find many stores that sell DDR-1 ram. Try ebay, or newegg if your in the U.S.

bah if you build your own and go to the right places you can get it up and running playing BF2 smoothly for around $600 cdn/american, that includes an LCD 17/19In, heck my 22 wide was only $309 on sale, just have to know where to shop, once you got it going add the bells and whistles later when you have more cash, like more ram etc

Also, posting about tech help rarely gets good answers here. If you notice, most of the people here have top of the line systems, so if you have ANY tech question, they almost always say:

Yea, that's because a lot of them don't understand that not everyone is going to want a new PC or is going to want to upgrade to a system like theirs.
