Helicopter flying question

When I fly choppers on vanilla BF2.....everything is smooth. When I fly choppers on Ghost Town...everything is smooth. However, when I fly them on Mass Destruction, I get some kind of choppy lag. The weird thing is, when I fly on Mass Destruction I get the choppy lag, but if I am in the gunners seat...no lag.
I can't figure it out...any ideas?

isnt that the map with the big rocket or w\e

I remember egtting lots of lag on that map

its probs the same as i got on my old pc on some special forces maps, impossible to fly the chopper. faster pc is fine playing em.

Special Forces is notoriously bugged up.

Some maps run smooth as silk, while others have so much FPS lag you can barely even play. Even certain areas of maps will have crazy lag, whilst the rest plays out perfectly fine (i.e. MEC helo pad on Iron Gator); it seems pretty random and can also depend on your system specs.

It could also be the amount of people / action occurring on your screen at any given time; that will dramatically reduce FPS.. but the point is that SF itself has major code issues, so you probably just have to live with it for the most part.

Lag is one of the reasons I dont play sf often

Check to see if it occurs ALL the time, or just when you are trying to use your rudder. Fly straigh, or dive down and dont touch anything. If it flys smooth, then use the rudder. If that makes it fly choppy (choppy like a chopper, get it:laugh:) then its a glitch I think. Happened to me once on Wake in vBF2.

If it flys wierd even when your not using the rudder, or when your not touching anything, then its lag.
