    Bf2 Internet Connection

so after a couple of months of not playing bf2 due to computer not working and my monitor being messed up i decided to buy a new monitor after i fixed my computer....and yesterday was the day my new 22"widescreen arrived. so i plug it in and get ready to play bf2....but than a problem.....i go into a game for like 5 minutes i get the "problem with your connection" and then when i go check my internet it says "page cannot be displayed" so i have to repair my connection and play bf2 for another 5 minutes until the same thing happens again.does anyone know whats up?

    thanks in advance..:)

enable WEP 128bit encryption create your passkey it should do better, but bf2 prefers eveyone to have miles of cable instead :|:

Just do what i did... buy a 20-30 meter ethernet cable, wait till your parents are out, whack out the drill, put a hole in the roof next to your router and hole coming into your room and feed the cable through the loft, in the one hole and out the other!

Just because he is on wireless doesn't mean that is at fault, i am on wireless i get 100% coverage & never lag out with BF2 or any other game & on a 64 player server i get pings of 15 to 30.

How much coverage do you get? Is there any electrical appliances by the router, ie microwave & radios? If so these will need to be turned off to enable the router to work well.

What type of internet speed do you have?

Have you scanned your system for viruses, malware, adware, spyware?

Is there a problem with your ISP?

                What are your system specs?

Yea, I'm on wireless too actually and it works fine. I was just saying that wireless could have a bigger possibility of causing a problem than wired.

It all depends on how far you are from the router & what obstacles are in the path of you & the router, eg how many floors?

sounds like wireless is your issue. There should be a way for your router to lease the ip to your computer for a lot longer than it seems it is. I have wireless, and it used to be in and out every 5 minutes for the same reason. I don't like wireless, there are a lot of issues that can make it not work. b, g, a who knows, then link speed, then wep, then some nic cards simply don't play with certain routers. Some g devices don't play when a router is set to use b and g. But once you do get it resolved, wireless is just fine.

Can you see if underclocking your CPU to 2.4GHZ (same frequency as the wireless signal ) does anything? I had mine running at that and I would get non-stop disconnects, but then I put it down 50MHz and suddenly it's all fine and dandy??!?!
