I played it for a while earlier.
I can tell the devs put a good amount of work into it but it's not all that fun. It's a basic deathmatch, and you start out with only a melee attack, primary fire to punch, secondary fire to disarm. The disarm attack is necessary because otherwise you'll be killed as soon as you run into someone who is armed. It does feel like a console shooter, even the funky aiming system serves to make it as hard to aim as with an analog stick.
The mod is a good reminder of how much gameplay has advanced in the past 7 years.
But that's just my opinion, the quality of the game is quite good and if you're into this type of game it's worth a shot.
