Crosshair shooting question

So when you folks are lining up a shot to you move the crosshair/sight around until you get the "whiskers" and then shoot... or shoot and note where the bullet hit and adjust? How quickly does the "whisker" show up when lining up a shot... seems to be a little slow for me from time to time...

whiskers are delayed by bullet time and your latency (sometimes confused with lag).

so if your ping is 34ms, then it takes 68ms for the whisker to show up AFTER you hit the guy.

bf2 has a cone of fire - so the bullet never hits the same spot the bullet before did, so moving around to find that "sweet spot" is relatively pointless

The "whiskers" are a hit detection display. The X that replaces the normal cross hair for a sec. They only appear when the game registers your bullet hitting the target. As for lining up shots, I aim for the chest and let the recoil take me to their head.

if by whiskers you mean the crosshair that is always displayed, and not the actual scope/iron sights, then i use those only with particular weapons, at certain ranges....

as for lining up shots, it really depends on which gun i have out....the spec ops guns tend to have smaller crosshairs or whiskers which indicate a more precise shot, with those guns, i generally do not right click for scope/iron sights, unless the target is far....


i always line my target up before i fire, i fire in bursts...the longer you hold the trigger, the more your crosshairs or whiskers spread, indicating that your shot is less and less precise, so short bursts are best....also i try to fire while im still, and crouching, or prone....these enhance the precision


ok now that others have posted while i was typing, i se you meant hit indicator when you said 'whiskers' and not the actual hud crosshairs that are seperate from the gun's scope/iron sights

yeah the whiskers are just to let u kno that u hit ur target. there is such thing as bullet travel time so thats why its late. usually u dont pay attention to those whiskers unless ur sniping or shooting at a heli with a vodnik gun

Thanks for the info... I could have sworn I have seen what you are calling the hit indicator show up before shooting... acting like a leading sight per say... perhaps it is just my imagination however...

That's because you indirectly damaged someone like with a grenade, claymore, artillery, etc.

yeah camper is right, you probably threw a grenade, pulled out your gun and got the "whiskas" before firing, because your g-nade hurt/killed someone.

They work best with 3 burst weapons. Just wait until your fixed whiskers are wrapped around the guy (dont zoom) then fire, then repeat. Dont fire if your whiskers are spread out far around the guy, just try to frame him. then youll see your X whiskas.
