CS f*cking rules, I just got back into it yesterday. The sheer fact that most of my shots register, plus no no-skill "cone" of fire = win.

The only thing is that AWP shots don't go where I'd prefer them, before it used to be a laser cannon.

They should port 1.5 or 1.4 to Source.
You obviously didn't read what I said, I said that I shot the gun, his face literally exploded, his face was now a red mushy looking pulp and AFTER it became red he shot me in calf and kill me. My reflexes are just fine thankyou. And in my opinion BF2 takes way more skill than CS. Mainly because of the fact that at least you have to be aiming in the general area of a player to hit them in bf2 (most of the time anyways ) And I can tell you enjoy CS as your name is quite suited to it.
Anyways, it doesn't matter to me. To each man his own, I hope you have a better experience playing CS than I did =)

Overall its not a bad game half-decent in fact, but you really do meet some e-tards on it, for me its not my cup of tea..i like to roam around a huge city in urban battles not running around the same tiny map...

No, believe me, it's ping and all that crap, the same happens in BF2. You shoot at someone who looks like they've turned round, puffs of smoke come out, etc, etc.

"Mainly because of the fact that at least you have to be aiming in the general area of a player to hit them in bf2 (most of the time anyways )"

No, all you have to do is aim in the general direction of a player and hold the trigger for a while, letting the random spray aim for you. BF2 punishes for skill, when I started off, I was horrified at my aim after going to other games... Literally couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in other games, because I got a bit too used to the way weapons shoot in BF2.

My name is suited to the retards that play it, yes. But if I knew there were more retards in BF2 (more scope for retardation)...

That's basic network latency. And as far as that goes CS:S is pretty good. Since there is so much less stuff going on it's a bit better than BF2, and miles ahead of BF42/V.

Imagine it like this. Player A and Player B are standing face to face. Player A has a ping of 100ms and Player B has a ping of 50ms. Both players click the fire button at the same time IRL. But Player B's fire command gets to the server 25ms before Player A's command does. So even though both players fired at the same time the server sees Player B as having fired first.

Now on Player A's screen in the 75ms it takes for his computer to be told that he is dead he has already seen the game engine render the muzzle flash, and the blood spray on Player B. This isn't a fault with CS:S, it's a fault with online games in general.

There are dozens of maps in CS:S, and u dont have to download the maps from crappy sites when u are joining a server. Bf2 has the same boring maps running. And u have to get a mod to play another maps...

I love modded maps and secrets they put into games.

And if you want graphics that could give the Amiga a run for its money too.

That's really the only thing that makes me hate the old engine.

Don't remember it looking this ugly in version 1.5, and I was playing at 400x300.

if u want 1.6 to look better just download high poly models. i rarely see much aliasing in CS and if u play on TRUserver (or somethinglike that) they have some cool sprites such as when u throw a flash, it lights up the entire room.

Me and my friend were playing bf2 at a cyber cafe. Suddenly a 2v2 CS tournament was announced. We had never played CS so but we decided to join anyway since the price was 5 extra gaming hours. Everyone else in the tournament were hardcore CS boys who are playing CS every time we see them there. Out of 8 teams we came second. We had never tried the game before but still we did so good as to come to the final. THe guys we were playing against were hardcore CS freaks but the game is so easy that anyone can get just as good as them in an instant.
