    Battlefield 2 problem.

I can't seem to get Battlefield 2 to work anymore. It used to work fine, I then stopped playing. Today I thought I'd have a go, it loaded fine, but when I connect to a server it just crashes to desktop with no errors or warnings.

I then tried reinstalling, but it wouldn't load the uninstaller, the screen changed colour really quick to a aqua blue, but didn't uninstall. So I deleted the BF2 folder in my games folder, went to reinstall and when I clicked install battlefield, it does the same flashing screen. I now cannot even install it.

    I really can't afford reformatting.

    My system specs are:

    A64 3500+ skt 939
    1GB geil ram
    6800 Ultra 256mb
    Audigy 2 soundcard
600gb (3 different harddrives in total)

edit: I tried installing again and it seems to be working, although it still did that random flash screen. Hopefully the game will actually work.

edit2: Seems to be doing it again when I try and install the expansion pack Special Forces.

Would it be my CD drive? Do I need a new one?

    Re: Battlefield 2 problem.

I doubt its your cd drive, try installing the latest graphics drivers for your card. Deleting the BF2 folder won't get rid of the registry entries for BF2, you should un-install it by the "add or remove programs" list.

I don't think you read me right, I said I cannot even uninstall it.
