I have done a search, can't find the answer.

Since I am not familiar with BF2, got a few questions:

1) What is a mod;
2) How to install the mod;
3) are mods made for multiplayer or single player;
4) will the installation affects the stability of regular multiplayer, or even disabling you from playing in ranked servers?

That's about it..I know its quite a few EASY questions for you guys, but then I just have no idea of what they are.

depends on the mod, regardless no mods are ranked.

About your last question, it doesn't affect the normal "vanilla" BF2 multiplayer, but no mods can be ranked.

That depends on the mod, some custom user mods will edit default game files making you unable to join online games due to modified content.

yeah but its like unofficial, i dont really know what that means in this case, but its seperate from vanilla bf2.
