I am very upset about how I bought this for 30-40 bucks. Well many of you may not know but I am 12. (yes give a little laugh and go on with it) Well I have been waiting to get SF and begged my mom since I was broke. Well she finally gave in (always works) and I got my SF. While downloading, I had to go to church(catholic) and when I came back, I had to run the installer. After the installer was finished, I noticed the lightings.gfx problem and installed the 1.41 patch again. Took me about 50 min to finish downloading.
I was filled with glory. I said to my self ATLAST I FINALLY GET TO PLAY SPECIAL FORCES but as I got ingame, I started to hate it even more and more. Ziplies go like 2 cm. Maps are effing small. Helicopters are way to senstive. I mean for support all I do is spam smoke. THat is all I do. Really mostly all your unlocks are the same... except for anti tank (missles) which I found also gay. I guess they are pretty strong but they are hard to move them around ( guessing you cant move them around). I mean for rebls, I thought the guns will atleast be creative. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it had to be the SAME gun for the MEC. I was furious. I am mad with this Special forces. I guess I will play a little once in a while but until then, vanilla or Dcon mod will keep me busy ( also hanging out with friends).

I did like SF. I'd have paid 25€ for the nightmaps and Iron Gator alone.

1. How did you have to pay 30-40 bucks, especially if downloaded using EA downloader.

2. It has been out for sometime, and perhaps you could have learned more about it before getting so hyped-up.

^ My point was not the method of pay, rather the amount. I thought if you purchased through the downloader the game was like 10-20 bucks not 30.

It is 30 USD right now if you purcase via EA Link so this info is correct. Booster Packs (Euro Force & Armored Fury) costs 10 USD each.

SF is great! Maybe the gun for the rebels are not very original, but it is a great addition to BFvanilla.
You have night maps, grappling hooks, Zip lines (they are great), smoke, teargas and nv goggles.
Some maps are really awesome. And I don't mean Warlord. But ghost town is the best map imo.

Just give it some more time and you will love it...

Bought my SF from a "bargain box" for mere £9.99 in my local Woolworth and I guess for unlocks alone it was worth it. I do play SF occasionally and I must say it does make refreshing change.

I like SF, and I think you will too if you give it some time. Once you get the hang of using the zip line and grappling hook you will find that they open up a lot of interesting possibilities for infantry and squad tactics.

The RPGs also make for a very different and entertaining style of anti-tank play. You can't guide them, but they don't set of a warning alarm, and you can just fire and forget them. So if you get up close, and use cover, or height (you have a grappling hook), you can really put the hurt on armoured vehicles.

Bf2:SF Imo is far better than Vanilla.

The added dimention Hooks and Zip lines gives makes you aware you have to look everyware , also as mentioned in an above post the night maps are quite cool , give it time and you will like it ,
