    help

yea, my system meets all the minimum requirements to run BF2 but it still runs with loads of performance lag, i think its coz of my graphics chipset. please advise!

    Spec:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
    Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz
    Memory: 702MB RAM
Page File: 495MB used, 1167MB available
GFX Card: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series, 256.0 MB

Its a very poor spec but thats all i can get atm!

    Re: help

Hi and welcome, sorry to say it but your system is at the low end of the ability to run this game and it is a laptop.

    1. Sempron the cheap AMD the difference between it and regular CPUs is the L2 cache.... Sempron=128Kb, regular=521-1Mb... my x2 has 1MB+1Mb=2MB.
The cache is were the CPU does its work from, more is better & faster 'mmmmK.

    2. 702Mb mem this odd number means that you are sharing your system memory with your video card because it is probably built into the MOBO.
BF2 is a memory hog and you need at least 1gig, 2gig lets me run at high settings.

    3. Your GFX card even though it has 256 mem is the lowest of the low and was not meant for gaming but for watching movies.

Set all ingame settings to low and rez to 800 x 600 and it might (I said might) be playable on small servers.

          Re: help

All you need to upgrade is your video card. I went from the Xpress 200 to a 7600GT, which got my performance from all low to running on mostly high settings, some medium and 1024x768.

              Re: help

if you were to get a better GFX card and at least 1.5 gigs of ram you would notice a huge increase in performance

Just like i said, you will go from all low to medium/high from getting even a 7600GT($100)
