Does 1280x1024 offer the best FOV?

There is an interesting discussion about how 1280x1024 can affect your FOV in BF2 (click on the link interesting discussion for details). From the research presented in that thread, it would appear that 1280x1024 offers the best FOV. This is regardless of resolution. However, it appears that when you have a 24" monitor your FOV becomes narrow while your depth of view increases. In other words images appear closer then normal but you lose field of view to the left, right and some of the top.

Your thoughts on this issue?

Dice r lazy. They said something about the "POV" giving an "Advantage", but, that's out the window (SF unlocks anyone?) They are just lazy, and won't admit it.

it does not make much of a diffrence.
