Re: Explain Please
They're mods not modes. In essence, they are just variations of the BF2 game, however they are not 'endorsed' by EA or dice, so cannot be used to earn points in the regular BF2 system.Anyone can make a mod, but the bigger ones are usually made by teams, some of which you can find here on TBF2. Things like DesertConflict, Project Reality and Point of Existence are all mods and quite popular. Some mods have their own ranking system.this will sound noobish i know :)....what are the modes that evry body is talking about?? like the desert conflict and bf2assult mode what are thease things ? are they new maps for the game ? and also can u run them in a ranked servers ? please explain..................... -
Re: Explain Please
"mods" (game modifications) are tweaked versions of battlefield 2. some have small changes and some make major changes. they are not ranked.

Re: Explain Please
What a constructive and poignant post.
Good on you.
Mods are free downloads which you can download that change the gameplay or add new content such as weapons or vehicles.
Some mods use ABR (Alternative Battlefield Ranking) which is essentially the same as EA's system, although points you accumulate in a mod will not go towards your culmative total.Comment

maybe i should've quoted him.
Oh btw, there is a new utility out named Modjive that helps you easily download new mods and links to their websites if you have any questions. Look in the files section.Comment
