If I'm a ground pounder, or in a ground vehicle, I do everything within my power to win the game for my team. That is why I usually winde up with dozens of flag captures by the end of the round.

If I'm in a helicopter, I do my best to keep the enemy's ground vehicles, and choppers grounded; but I'm not even going to try to capture a flag. It's up to the ground humpers to do that. If there are no ground humpers around to do that. Simply enough, we're going to lose; but my score is going to rock either way.

If I'm in a plane, I simply let fate take it's course. I'm not nearly as good as people like Metallica, so I'm barely able to squeak out 30-5 K/D scores at the end of a round. Even if I wanted to be more of a team player, I struggle far too much to make a real difference.

What really annoys the hell out of me is when I do alot of the work compared to the commander and get into first place then the round ends and his score is doubled putting me in second place with a silver star. That annoys me!

I like to win, and play for that goal. However, I have days where I would sell grandma for a triple digit score.

I don't even worry about my personal score. I've spent entire rounds flying a blackhawk over enemy flags as a squad leader and providing an endless stream of attackers. I had 0 points at the end of the round, but we won. I'm fine with that.

Re: How important is winning the round?

When talking about the gold silver and bronze medals, for first, second, and third place in the round, what are they good for? After you get one, what can you do or get for it? Nothing thats what!

What does that have to do with helping my team win? Not much but I posted it to help show what kind of a player I am. I really dont care if I get another first second or third place medal. I always play as hard as I can to get the win but If it dont happen I will try again next time. So winning the game with my team is about third or so on my list. Helping the guys who are helping me (team work) is probably second and getting the enemy killed, even if it isnt by me, is first. Thats why I sometimes find myself on the battlefield alone but hasnt everyone.

The short version is this. Lets play fair and have fun, the points will come and so will the wins. . . . . . . .Red

Still always go FTW but, hey, if you lose it's always hilarious to listen to some school child whine like a baby on acid.

Often times, I find that I'm the only one doing the "dirty work." Like the one guy that will drop back to defend a flag, or the one guy that spawns AT to take out the enemy tank whereas everyone else just avoids it.
Funny thing is that I usually do pretty well in terms of score. There are times where I'll have almost no points because I'm a spawn point, or I'm the only one on defence. No biggy.

                              Fun FTW.
