Will 2142 take over Bf2?

I am just wondering do you guys think that 2142 will take over bf2 or just kind of phase out? I have invested considerable time in BF2 but don't want to get to a high rank (eventually) and there be no one left playing. Any advice?

I wouldn't worry about it. 2142 seems to have flopped, so I can see BF2 hanging around for a bit longer. Your only concern should be when EA will pull the plug on the stats system.

2142 take over BF2? roflmaololwtfpwnnoobleet!one!1! Not in this lifetime. As far as phasing out goes, all games will EVENTUALLY phase out, but it won't be because of 2142.

Lol at people hating on Bf2142, most of you probably haven't even given it a good go. It's actually quite good but no, it won't take over Bf2 as like other people said, it's not as popular.

However, it's still good and i won't have some idiot who has never played it before tell me different.

well BF 1942 still has people on it, so i think BF2 will last alot longer then people think.
And look at Quake and Unreal, there's still people playing them.

2142 us akready dying so no. and why did you really need to ask us just look anywhere (besides Tbf2142) and you will see that bf2 is doing much better even though its been out longer.

2142 is NOT even on xfires top10 whie BF2 is in the top 5.

2142 was a major flop
don't accuse me of not playing, because I gave that game a good run.
It just gets monotonous, no variety involved
maps seem closed, it just doesn't make you feel like you're actually fighting.
Only thing I liked were the helos (top 10 woot! lol), but those didn't even make me stay.

I have an extra key if anybody wants it lol.
