Stuck on Master sergeant rank

I understand that you need 20,000 points, and specific badges to move to first sergeant. But i have 38,000+ points and every single badge (basic and veteran for some) and i still have not moved to first sergeant.

Any ideas why i havent ranked up?

i believe you need the badges before you get the points.

You must not have achieved all the basic badges BEFORE you reached 20,000. In this case you will skip over First Sergeant the nexttime you Rank up.

If you achieved all Basic badges before 20,000, but still didn't Rank up to 1st sergeant, then I don't know what to tell you, it's BF2, it's got issues..

You have to get the basic combat badges BEFORE reaching 20,000, if you do not have they before reaching 20,000 you will become a Master Sergeant rather than a First Sergeant. If this happens, you cannot become a First Sergeant at all. You have to goto the next one up which is Master Gunnery Sergeant at 50,000. Now if you have all the Basic Badges as you say, then you will become a Sergeant Major at 50,000 not a Master Gunnery Sergeant. The way the system is designed it awards folks who work to get all the various badges in the various kits. Good Luck!

Thank you very much for the help....and yes i am sure i hit 20,000 before i got my badges, so that is probably my problem. Great help....ty...:)
