Improve Log On Times !!!

:p my log in times used to be 2-3 minutes until i deleted all of te servers in the favourites section, now the time it takes to log in is around 15-20 seconds !!just do it and you will notice it if you have slow times :)

Are you sure that deleting all your favorite servers actually did anything? It might have been a coincidence. You might have done something else to effect it.

I fixed my log in time by deleting ZoneAlarm because it was stuffing up all my ports. It also wouldn't let me take screenshots.

I have something similair as mine doesn't let me do screenshots either and loading takes 5-10 minutes. Can you PM or something, tell me how to get rid of it all? I don't have ZoneAlarm but i am pretty sure i got something like you do/did.

Deleting all of your favorites will help; because, when you log on, it pings all the servers in your favorites... INCLUDING red ones. This will increase your time tremendously.

It should not take that long to ping 30-50 servers. IF it save you that much time you must have a huge faviortes list.

I have ZoneAlarm and its great! Did you set BF2 to ALLOW on all fronts?
Sorry if thats a stupid question btw, but its worth checking if ever you re-install it.

All I did to speed up my loading times, was to drop my graphics down to medium for shadows etc. I've gone from last into a round, to almost first.

I clean out my "Favorites" periodically and it does seem to me that doing so speeds up my load time. In addition to those servers you actually mark as "favorites" the system stores all servers you play on. Try to keep the number down to what will fit on a single page, if not fewer.

ya know how some servers on your favorites are red, thats because they are not running at that time, but your comp tries to ping them anyway. it takes a long time to ping a server this is not on.

hhaha yeah this is sortof old, but sitll good to know. i usually just clean out my whole profile since it cleans up those server ads and some history and yeah..good point tho

It definitely works. I think the key is removing the red ones.
