OK, my computer is very fast and i have a great vid card so hardware isnt the problem but when i turn fraps on even when im not recording it lags my game to hell... It didnt use to do this and i havent changed any of my comp specs, does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this weird lag? I have a dual core processor btw.

This might not be the solution at all, but you can give it a go. Change the FPS Fraps is set to record at. IT will make a difference when recording, but it shouldn't affect your computer when its not recording.
I had FRAPS set to 25FPS which i found limited my game to 25FPS, so i turned it up to 60FPS and now have no probs. But you need a F off big hard drive and beefy CPU to deal with that sort of recording.Comment

Well the problem is that it used to work perfectly fine even when I was recording but now when i turn it on (without recording) it lags to hell.Comment

Try uninstalling, restarting your PC and reinstalling. I had that happen once, it would lag Firefox like hell.Comment
