I had similar problems where my voice was almost inaudible in multiple games. I tried two different headsets that plugged into the sound card. One was a headset and the other was a desktop - neither worked. This was fixed once I bought a USB headset.

I have the EXACT same problem, sometimes I fix it everyone hears me fine, I restart my CPU, no one hears me. (They don't go back to default, I checked.)
